Ingredients:
• 1 pound of fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 1 cup of stone-ground grits
• 2 cups of water
• 2 cups of Chicken Broth
• 1 cup of heavy cream
• 1 cup of shredded smoked Gouda cheese
• 4 ounces of Andouille sausage, sliced
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 2 cloves of garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons of butter
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil
• 2 teaspoons of Miss Bee’s Seafood Seasoning
2 teaspoons of my salt free garlic and herb seasoning
2 teaspoons of Miss Bee’s Cajun seasoning
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the grits and a pinch of salt, then reduce the heat to low. Cook the grits for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
2. Stir in the heavy cream and shredded smoked gouda cheese, and continue cooking until the cheese melts and the grits are creamy. Set aside.
3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the Andouille sausage and cook until it turns brown and crispy. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside.
4. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the chopped onion. Sauté the onion until it becomes translucent, then add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
5. Add the shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle Miss Bee’s Seafood Seasoning over them. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until they turn pink and are cooked through. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become tough.
6. Return the cooked Andouille sausage to the skillet with the shrimp and briefly toss them together to combine the flavors.
7. To serve, spoon a generous amount of the creamy grits onto a plate or shallow bowl. Top it with the shrimp and Andouille sausage mixture.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and added freshness.
9. Enjoy your Tangy Twist: Shrimp and Grits with Andouille Sausage, made extra special with the vibrant flavors of Miss Bee’s Seafood Seasoning!
